Our Disaster Response Team is working hard to recover from the storm.
In the aftermath of Hurricane Irma, our Disaster Response Team and operations leaders are once again working around the clock to support patients and colleagues.
In advance of the storm we provided patients with emergency packets that included a three-day renal diet, a care transition report, a labs and medication list, and our patient emergency number. Our clinics extended hours and added extra shifts to provide dialysis treatment ahead of the storm, and we prepared our clinics in the impacted regions for an influx of transient patients. After clinics in St. Thomas were unable to care for patients after Irma devastated the island, 137 patients were transferred to Fresenius Kidney Care clinics in Puerto Rico where they received dialysis.
We have clinics open in all areas impacted by the storm. If you are a dialysis patient affected by Hurricane Irma, please contact our Disaster Response Team at 1-800-626-1297 for scheduling assistance and the latest information on open clinics.
